THE QUALITY OF PATIENT CARE IS A TOP PRIORITY FOR THE BOWMANVILLE HOSPITAL AND FOUNDATION.
Patient monitoring is a valuable tool that helps provide additional information to the medical and nursing staff about the condition of patients. Using this information, the clinical staff can better evaluate a patient and make appropriate treatment decisions to treat a wide range of conditions.
This year's "State of the Heart" Fundraiser will enable a complete refresh of the entire integrated hardware and software system. The current system and technology, while functional, is obsolete. The upgrade, at a total cost of $160,000, includes:
Cardiac Monitor Software Upgrade -$50,000
Bedside monitors display real time views of a patient's vital signs using enhanced algorithms, such as ECG algorithm and customized alarms.
Central Station Hardware and Software - $45,000
Philips central patient monitoring systems provide essential functions such as continuous oversite, examining alarm and review trending data for every bed on the unit from one central location.
Server Hardware and Software Upgrade - $55,000
Consolidates all the Central Stations in Bowmanville - 2 in the Emergency Room, 1 in Medical Surgical Unit and 1 in Critical Care Unit -- into one central point to allow seamless connectivity for the future CIS (Clinical Information System)
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) - $10,000
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) provides seamless power to sensitive electronic components and safeguard up time.
