Shoppers Drug Mart Raises $8,154 for Mammography Dept. at Bowmanville Hospital

BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO – On Thursday, January 30, 2020, Andrea Russell, Chief Development Officer, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, was on hand to receive a cheque for $8,154 from Leanne Travis – Associate & Pharmacist Owner, Longworth Avenue, Lisa Kemp – Bowmanville Mall and Catherine Lokietek – Highway #2. The funds were raised through the 2019 Growing Women’s Health Campaign that took place at local Shoppers Drug Marts this past fall. 100 percent of the funds will go directly to support the Mammography Department at Bowmanville Hospital and women’s health initiatives.

This campaign, held annually across Canada, offers customers the opportunity to purchase and personalize a Growing Women’s Health icon, which are prominently displayed on the Growing Women’s Health tree in all participating stores. By purchasing a “leaf” for a toonie, a “butterfly” for $5, an “apply” for $10 or a “blue bird” for $50 at the three Clarington and a Whitby store locations, shoppers were able to support the Bowmanville Hospital.
