THE PLAN

The Bowmanville Hospital Foundation has been working collaboratively with Lakeridge Health on the Hospital’s Master Plan. Lakeridge Health’s plan for the Bowmanville site will ensure there is enough room for a growing and aging population.  We are currently in Stage 2 in the planning grant process.

Request for Qualifications Issued for the Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Project

Lakeridge Health and the Ontario government have achieved a key milestone in the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment by issuing the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the project.

The RFQ marks the initial step in selecting a team to deliver the project, which will nearly double the size of the current hospital and significantly enhance access to quality health care across the Durham Region.

Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment Makes Infrastructure Ontario’s Fall 2019 P3 Market Update

In September 2019, Infrastructure Ontario’s identified the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment and expansion as a near-term priority project on the Fall 2019 Ontario P3 Market Update. We want to thank the Provincial Government, MPP Lindsey Park and Lakeridge Health for their diligent efforts to move this project to the top of the Infrastructure Ontario list.

It is an exciting time of growth and transformation in Durham Region.

In 1991, the population of Clarington was just over 48,000. Today, Clarington is home to nearly 98,000 residents, and that number will continue to rise.

As the region’s population grows, the demand for health care services continues to rise. To meet this demand, Lakeridge Health is embarking on a master planning and consultation process with the province, health care providers, community stakeholders and citizens.
