The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Collectively, they bring diverse professional, business and academic expertise in ensuring accountability to you – our donors – through excellent governance practices. They are committed to ensuring all gifts to the Foundation are used as intended by our donors.
Meet our board of directors
LAURA SCIORE
Laura Sciore is a Leadership, Team and Performance Coach. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach by the Co-Active Coach Institute (CTI) in San Rafael California and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF). Laura is a graduate of the Paralegal program at Seneca College and obtained her MBA at Queen’s University. She is a Certified Financial Planner and between 1994 to 2017 Laura owned and operated an insurance and financial services agency in Bowmanville. She is the recipient of multiple awards for success and profitability in her business, including several Clarington’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
Laura has served on several boards and committees including as Chair and committee member of the Lakeridge Health Foundation Gala Committee, as Treasurer on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarington, as Chair and board trustee on the board of the Clarington Board of Trade and Office of Economic Development (CBOT) and she is currently a director on the board for the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation and is Chair of the Governance Committee and Strategic Planning Task Force.
Lindsay Hamilton
Lindsay Hamilton is a dedicated energy sector professional, serving as Senior Manager, Stakeholder Relations and Projects at Ontario Power Generation (OPG) since 2008. With a rich background in Communications and Stakeholder Relations, Lindsay has significantly contributed to public consultations for key projects and led the Employee Communications for OPG's Enterprise. Beyond professional achievements, Lindsay is deeply involved in community initiatives, including serving with and supporting various local charity campaigns.
Passionate about educating communities on OPG’s role in providing sustainable and reliable electricity, Lindsay is committed to enhancing environmental responsibility, economic support, and community well-being. Living in Newcastle with two young children and being an avid runner and outdoor enthusiast, Lindsay actively participates in and contributes to the community, embodying the values of leadership and commitment to making Ontario a better place to live, work, and play.
Lindsay sits on our Board of Directors and sits on both the Governance and Executive Committees.
FRANCESCA LORETO
Born and raised in the Durham Region, Francesca returned following her schooling, where she received both a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management, as well as a Masters of Accounting from the University of Waterloo. Now a Chartered Professional Accountant specializing in Canadian tax with Baker Tilly, Francesca has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including non-profit. Francesca's volunteer work with Bowmanville Hospital Foundation began in 2020 as a member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee.
Angelo D’Amico
Angelo holds a degree in Economics and has been a member of Durham’s business community for over a decade. Angelo was a Management consultant for 10 years helping businesses develop competitive strategies and positions. For the past two years Angelo has focused on his role as Partner and Vice President of Business Development at Canada Rubber Group. Angelo also provided his strategic insight to the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation as a member of the Strategic Plan Task Force.
ISABEL PEAT
Isabel Peat is a longtime resident of Clarington, having lived in the area since 1986. She is a retired science teacher, teaching in the DDSB Board for 31 years. Isabel began volunteering at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in 1985 and later began volunteering at Bowmanville Hospital from 1995 onward. Isabel’s passion for volunteering has included many roles across the Hospital such as member of the retail committee, scholarship committee, and a member of the Foundation Task Force. She is an active member at St. Paul’s United Church in Bowmanville where she is currently Board Chair.
We are so pleased to have Isabel join the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.
CHRISTIE BARTRAM
Christie is an Associate Portfolio Manager & Senior Investment Advisor with TD Wealth. Christie has spent the last year and a half on the Foundation’s Finance, Audit and Risk Committee. During her time on the Committee, Christie’s expertise of fund management has been an incredible asset towards the Foundation’s financials.
Brad Phillips
Brad is a named partner of Strike & Phillips LLP. Brad has been providing the local community with legal guidance since 2011. He is also passionate about his volunteer work outside of the office and has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Durham Region Law Association, the Clarington Board of Trade, the Grandview Children’s Center and the Director of Youth Services of the Rotary Club of Bowmanville.
Kevin Brady
With over 13 years of experience as the President of The Digital Marketing People Inc., I am a data-driven marketing strategist and leader with a background in the army. I help businesses move from traditional sales and marketing to blended solutions that leverage digital advertising and marketing tools to reach new markets and customers.
Chris Kooy
For 37 years, Chris Kooy has held various positions and portfolios at Bowmanville Hospital, including Vice-President of Clinical Programs at Lakeridge Health up until her retirement. As a lifelong resident of Bowmanville, Chris has generously volunteered for the Foundation in various roles and capacities since 2014. During this time, Chris has held the role of Board Chair, and has volunteered her time on the Foundation’s Governance Committee, Family Campaign and Strategic Planning Task Force. Chris also currently sits on the Board of Durham Christian Homes where she serve as Vice Chair.
Pankaj Panchal
Pankaj Panchal is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and a recognized Fellow of Engineers Canada (FEC), with over 25 years of diverse experience in engineering and project management. He currently works at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), where he specializes in strategic project delivery within the nuclear energy sector.
Pankaj’s passion for excellence extends beyond the technical field into community leadership and governance. He serves as a Board Member for the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, actively supporting fundraising efforts and strategic initiatives that contribute to the hospital’s expansion and redevelopment.
He is also deeply involved with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), having served in various leadership roles across two chapters, including his current service on the Board of the Lake Ontario Chapter. In 2023, Pankaj was awarded the FEC designation in recognition of his significant volunteer contributions to the engineering profession in Ontario.
As a volunteer with the Project Management Institute – Durham Highlands Chapter (PMI-DHC), Pankaj helps lead outreach initiatives, including community partnerships that strengthen the local project management community; he is also a former Director of the chapter, contributing to strategy and engagement across the region.
In addition, he is the Founder and Director of Unity in Diversity, a not-for-profit organization that promotes multiculturalism and community engagement through cultural events. A portion of the proceeds from Unity in Diversity events is dedicated to charitable causes, including support for the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation.

Deanna Cregg
As a partner at Baker Tilly KDN LLP Deanna services a variety of small to mid-size businesses. Specializing in assisting professionals – doctors, lawyers, dentists, and veterinarians, Deanna provides comprehensive accounting and tax advisory tailored to the unique needs of owner-managed businesses to achieve the greatest tax efficiencies available. Deanna's volunteer work with Bowmanville Hospital Foundation began in 2024 as a member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee.
