BOWMANVILLE, ON – On Friday, June 25, 2021, real estate agents in Clarington launched the Realtors for Healthcare initiative. This program is designed to offer real estate agents the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the We Care, We Can Campaign and support one of the most important redevelopment and expansion project Clarington has seen in decades.
Bowmanville Hospital is a special place for Tyler Smith of the Homesmiths Real Estate Team. It is the place where he was born and the community his family has called home for two generations. It is now where Tyler raises his own family and operates his real estate business. It is for all of these reasons why Tyler made giving back to Bowmanville Hospital a priority and the impetus behind the Realtors for Healthcare initiative.
Tyler is leading the way with his personal gift of $100,000 and hopes the Realtors for Healthcare program will inspire a spirit of giving amongst his colleagues and move others to get involved.
“Clarington is my home and access to good quality health care is important for all of us”, says Tyler. “Bowmanville Hospital is one of the fundamental cornerstones of this community and, as Clarington continues to grows, we need to all work together to provide access to quality healthcare for our families and that’s why the redevelopment and expansion of Bowmanville Hospital and its services are so important to me and my colleagues”.
Fellow realtor, Steve Hennessey of Right at Home Realty is a member of the Realtors for Healthcare program and made his gift of $100,000 to the We Care, We Can campaign in 2019.
“Now more than ever, Bowmanville Hospital needs our support,” says Steve. “In its current state, the Hospital is literally bursting at the seams with the number of people it services year-after-year. Those numbers are not going down, they will only increase as more and more families call Clarington home. It’s important that Clarington has a health care facility that meets the growing needs of its community and I am proud to do my part to help make that happen”.
