JULY 2, 2024 – Bowmanville Hospital Foundation Celebrates Success at 2023/24 Annual General Meeting
CLARINGTON, ONT. – The Bowmanville Hospital Foundation commemorated a successful year at its 2023/24 Annual General Meeting, hosted on Wednesday, June 19 at the Rolling Acres. The event brought together healthcare professionals, dedicated volunteers, valued community members, and local government officials. It was a celebration of shared commitment to exceptional healthcare in Bowmanville, marked by steadfast advocacy for the We Care, We Can campaign advancing the hospital’s redevelopment and expansion.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome and foundation overview by Peter Hobb, who graciously set the tone for the gathering. Francesca Loreto, Treasurer, then presented a detailed financial report for the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
Kirsten Burgomaster, Health System Executive from Lakeridge Health, delivered an insightful address, emphasizing the pivotal role of community support in shaping healthcare excellence. The Hon. MPP Todd McCarthy’s Office extended supportive greetings, reinforcing governmental backing for healthcare initiatives in Bowmanville. Regional Councilor Granville Anderson followed with encouraging words, affirming the Foundation’s integral role in the community.
Greg Westlake, esteemed Captain of Team Canada Para Ice Hockey, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, highlighting the profound impact of healthcare philanthropy on individuals and families. Frank Cerisano, CEO of the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation, provided a comprehensive update on ongoing initiatives and future plans, outlining strategic efforts to meet growing healthcare demands.
The evening concluded with the announcement of Laura Sciore as the new Board Chair, succeeding the dedicated tenure of Peter Hobb. Peter, a dedicated volunteer since 2002, has significantly contributed to the Foundation’s growth, notably through initiatives such as the development of the planned giving program and enhanced community outreach efforts. His unwavering dedication has left a permanent mark on the Foundation’s mission.
In the 2023/2024 fiscal year, the Bowmanville Hospital Foundation achieved a remarkable milestone, raising $3,722,850 through dedicated fundraising efforts and investments. These funds will directly support the We Care, We Can campaign in support of the redevelopment and expansion project.
