September 6, 2024 – Clarington Businesses Rally for Bowmanville Hospital Redevelopment 

CLARINGTON, ONT. – The Bowmanville Hospital Foundation is delighted to announce a resounding show of community support for the redevelopment and expansion of Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital. Local businesses and organizations are supporting the We Care, We Can Awareness Initiative by hosting a range of events, including fine dining, golf tournaments, and cultural celebrations.

On September 12th, the Clarington Eagles Junior Hockey Club Home Opener at Garnet B. Rickard will kick off the lineup. The We Care, We Can Initiative Celebration will take place on September 18th at The Rolling Acres. On September 19th, the On Point Wealth Management Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Newcastle Golf & Country Club. September 21st is a particularly eventful day, beginning with the We Care, We Can Charity Ride at Blackstock Motorsports at 8:00 AM, followed by the Unity in Diversity Navratri GARBA Fest at Garnet B Rickard at 6:00 PM, and concluding with Dinner in the Orchard at Kent Farms with The Yardbird at 7:00 PM. Lastly, from September 20th to 23rd, Harvey’s Bowmanville Hospital Days will take place, rounding out this series of impactful community events. Third-party fundraisers are instrumental in advancing the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment project, which will feature 178 bed capacity, a state-of-the-art Regional Eye Centre, private accommodations, a new emergency department, a new Ambulatory Care Centre, and a nine-station Hemodialysis Centre. These critical enhancements are designed to address the growing healthcare needs of the Clarington community. 

“These events truly represent the spirit of our community,” added Stephanie Lamanna, Development Coordinator at the Foundation. “Everyone has a role to play in ensuring that the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment becomes a reality.”
